Here’s what to do with all your cardboard boxes! Turn them into art.
Project – Two Weeks
Grades 3 through 12
For the next two weeks at Homeschooling Art, we’ll be exploring the world of Block Heads! Think about a Minecraft-style cardboard sculpture head – of either an animal, human, alien, or robot. See the photos below for ideas!
Each student will need the following (for next week):
- At least 1 cardboard package box or shoebox
- A piece of flat cardboard for extra pieces and good scissors
- Lots of extra accessory pieces they’ll want for construction.
- Also have on hand a lot of plain (off-white) masking tape and a glue gun.
Ideas for accessory items
- smaller boxes
- buttons
- pipe cleaners
- pom poms
- jar lids
- feathers
- egg carton pieces
- toilet paper rolls
- and any other fun things you can think of.
You can make all kinds of ideas with only a couple of small boxes. Think of what more you can do with a lot of supplies!
These are not constructed or painted yet. Just a few ideas to get you thinking.
